Back Country

Once you look past all the paperwork, permits, and research you have to do to get out to it there's nothing that compares to the back country hikes. If you're lucky, you might get a trail marker every mile or so, maybe some shoe tracks left in the mud down the trail, but other than that it's just you, the sun, and the rocks. If you can overcome the heat and the rough terrain of the trail ahead of you then you'll be rewarded with some of the quietest and most serene vistas you could imagine.
